Privacy.
Short version: your engineering files never leave your PC.
The app
- Projects, SCL files, logs and captures stay on your computer. The app has no analytics and no telemetry.
- The app contacts the license server only to start a trial, activate or move a key, and at most once a week to check whether a lifetime key is still valid.
- Those requests send a Machine ID (a one-way SHA-256 fingerprint of Windows identifiers, not your name) and, for licenses, the license key.
The license server
- Stores: license keys, the Machine ID they are bound to, trial start dates, and for purchases your email address and the PayPal order number.
- Logs requests with their IP address for abuse protection; logs are size-capped and rotate automatically.
- Payments are handled by PayPal. We never see or store card details.
- License emails are sent through Mailgun.
