IEC 61850 IED simulator
Import a CID, ICD, IID or SCD and pick the IEDs to simulate. ScadaBench starts one MMS server per IED with the data model, datasets, report control blocks and controls written in the file. SCADA, gateways and clients connect on port 102 exactly as they will to the real device. Values can be set by hand, by generators, by timed sequences or by CSV playback.
GOOSE simulator and monitor
Simulated IEDs publish the GOOSE messages declared in their SCD on a lab network adapter. At the same time every GOOSE stream on the wire is supervised against the SCD: confRev, dataset, goID, needs-commissioning and time-allowed-to-live, with a plain-language fix for every problem. GOOSE uses the free Npcap driver, which you install yourself.
Sampled Values listener
Listen to IEC 61850-9-2 streams from merging units, see RMS and phasors for 50 and 60 Hz, and get warned about missing or late samples and streams that disagree with the SCD. ScadaBench listens to Sampled Values; it does not publish them.
SCD and SCL checker
Schema validation for SCL 2003, 2007B and 2007B4, signal flow of every declared GOOSE and report link, and checks for subscriptions that point nowhere. Original SCL and vendor extensions are preserved on export; nothing is silently dropped.
Real IED client
Connect to a real relay to read its model, compare it with the SCD and include it in station health. ScadaBench reserves only free report blocks, falls back to polling and gives the blocks back when you stop. It never writes a setting, and it operates a control only from Tools, after you confirm the command.
SCADA gateway simulator
ScadaBench acts as the station gateway over IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus TCP or DNP3. It proposes the point list from your IEDs (positions, alarms and trips, measurements, health and commands) and sends live values with quality while the IEDs run. SCADA commands operate the IEDs over IEC 61850 MMS with their own control model. You can also send commands from the point list after a warning. Point lists import and export as CSV, and a decoded traffic log and command log show every exchange. Tested against independent IEC 104 and DNP3 master implementations and a Modbus TCP client.
